Alexandra Fil holds an M.A. in Communication from Washington State University, an M.S. in Accountancy from San Jose State University, and a B.S. and B.A. in Biology and Anthropology from UC San Diego.
Her interdisciplinary research focuses on media literacy and science communication, with an emphasis on entertainment education. She has presented work on climate change denial in self-published literature and environmental storytelling in conservative entertainment media.
On a personal note, Alexandra has spent much of her life serving as a caretaker for disabled family members, which has vastly influenced her perspective on disability, caregiving, aging, and the treatment of individuals at the end-of-life.
